BASIC ROOM INFORMATION

  • A variety of accommodations are offered at Seven Gables. This historic inn was built in 1886.. Our comfortable guest rooms are beautifully appointed with an eclectic collection of fine furnishings.
  • Every guest room features outstanding ocean views. The price of the room you choose is dependent upon the size of the room and the expanse and panorama of the ocean view.
  • Each king or queen-size bed features beautiful 100% cotton duvet covers and pillow cases from the Lotus Collection of fine linens. Goose down comforters from Pacific Coast Feather Company, high thread count 100% cotton sheets and a selection of down and synthetic pillows complete the bedding.
  • All of our guest rooms feature full, private bathrooms. For added comfort, each bathroom is equipped with extra towels, bath mats, a night light and a hair dryer.
  • We are proud to feature H20 Plus Spa bath amenities featuring sea-inspired nutrients These wonderfully scented shampoos, conditioners and lotions are complimented by a wonderful line of handmade bar soaps produced exclusively for the Seven Gables Inn by Yosemite Soap Works.
  • You will find comfortable chairs by the front windows of each room for relaxing and enjoying the vistas of the ocean.
  • A full breakfast is included in all room rates along with afternoon wine and cheese. Homemade cookies with milk are served each evening.
  • We provide a complimentary high speed wireless internet connection for your computer in all of our Guest Rooms and common areas.
  • Room rates from May 2, 2008 until April 30, 2009 vary from $200 to $450 per night. Rates are subject to change without notice.

There are twenty five guest rooms
located in seven buildings at the
Seven Gables Inn.

Starting with the Main House and moving clockwise, they are:

1) The Main House features six rooms in the original 1886 three-story historic home.

2) Our Arbor/Garden Cottage has two rooms, the Arbor Room upstairs and the Garden Room downstairs. This two story cottage was used historically as staff quarters.

3)The single story Carriage House served as the original carriage house for the property.

4) There are four rooms in the Guest House building. This is the "new" building on the property built in 1946. The Guest House features four of our largest guest rooms with wonderful ocean views.

5) The Jewell Cottage is a historic 1884 cottage which can accommodate up to four adults in two bedrooms.

6)The Seaview Cottage is a historic 1890 cottage which can accommodate up to four adults in two bedrooms

7)We have ten wonderfully decorated guest rooms for our guests to enjoy located on three floors in our Beach House.





 

Jewell Cottage $450/ $550

This is our large, luxury suite which is an historic 2-bedroom, 1200 square foot cottage dating back originally to 1884. The cost for the use of one bedroom is $450. The cost for the use of both bedrooms is $550. Very spacious and luxurious!
The Jewell Cottage has a living room with a nice ocean view looking out to Lover's Point. Includes a gas-burning fireplace, television, DVD player, breakfast room with refrigerator, microwave, telephone, modem hookup and desk area.
The upstairs bedroom has a panoramic ocean view looking down the rocky coast towards Monterey, a California King bed with a partial canopy, tub/shower combination bathroom and elegant furnishings in golds and burgundies.
The downstairs bedroom overlooks the garden with the ocean in the distance, has a queen bed, shower-only bathroom, stained glass window and private entrance off the garden area.
The colors are royal blue and gold.

Sea View Cottage $450/$550

This separate and private building is our historic 1882, 1100 square foot cottage located on the south side of the Beach House. The cost for the use of one bedroom is $450. The cost for the use of both bedrooms is $550. Very private and very luxurious!
Enjoy nice views of the Lover's Point beach area from the living room area. A crystal chandelier in the living room compliments the wonderful marble top dining table and a beautiful walnut fireplace mantel with a gas-log fireplace. A wet bar, television with DVD and VCR players and telephone complete the amenities of this cottage.
Both bedrooms feature comfortable partial canopy beds. The larger of the two bedrooms has a California King bed, a gas-log fireplace, private tub/shower bath and nice views across the bay. The second bedroom has a queen-sized bed, private tub/shower bath and a bright eastern exposure.
Both bedrooms have French doors which exit onto a private deck and garden area featuring some interesting surprises which will have you talking about your stay for many years!

Cypress $355

Guest House

A very popular room. This is our largest guest room featuring a 22 foot corner bay window and window seat which has a spectacular 180 degree sweeping view of the ocean and coastline.
This room is located on the northeast corner on the second floor of the Guest House. Very romantic!
Furnishings include a 9' armoire, inlaid sideboard and comfortable velvet couch for relaxing and looking at the ocean.
Two antique, jeweled, stained glass windows add extra elegance to the wonderful atmosphere of this room.
The bed is a California King draped with a lace wall canopy.
The bathroom is a full, tub/shower combination tiled bathroom with a little refrigerator.
The colors of this room are peach, ivory and silver blue.

Breakers $355

Main House

The most popular room! The Breakers room is located on the front northeast corner of the Main House on the second floor directly overlooking the crashing breakers below. This room was spotlighted in the VISA commercial about Seven Gables Inn on national TV.
This wonderful room features high ceilings, an antique stained glass window, large 3-door carved armoire and crystal chandelier as well as a gas-log fireplace. It features 2 comfortable chairs in the gable which looks directly out at the ocean.
The bed is a California King draped with a partial canopy.
The bathroom is a full, shower-only tiled bathroom. Please note, due to the historic nature of the building, there is a 6' height limitation in half the bathroom. There is a small refrigerator in the bathroom.
The colors of this room are cream, pastel blues and peach.

Bellevue $315

Main House

The Bellevue room is situated in the largest front gable of the east side on the second floor of the Main House. Many repeat guests request this room!
A beautifully decorated room with four large double hung windows which have a panoramic ocean view. Features high ceilings, a crystal chandelier above a very spacious and comfortable sitting area with a down-filled couch looking out at the fabulous view of the coastline and ocean.
The bed is queen-sized draped with a partial canopy.
The bathroom is a full, tub/shower combination tiled bathroom.
The colors of this room are royal blues, golds and creams.

Ocean Mist $315

Guest House

The Ocean Mist room is located on the east side on the second floor of the Guest House. One of our favorites!
This is one of our largest guest rooms with a bay window which offers a sweeping view of the ocean looking down the coastline.
A quietly elegant room with beautiful inlaid wood furniture, large armoire and stained glass window.
The bed is a California King.
The bathroom is a full, tub/shower combination tiled bath with a little refrigerator.
The colors of this room are sea foam and cream.

Seal Rocks $315

Beach House

The Seal Rocks Room is the front middle room facing north on the second floor of the Beach House. The most popular room!
Enjoy a twelve foot wide picture window with an almost surreal view of all of Monterey Bay as well as rocks along Lover's Point beach area. A crystal chandelier compliments the large armoire and antique brass queen-sized bed with inlaid wood.
The bathroom is a full tub/shower combination bath done in tan and rose marble.
The colors of this room are rose, green and cream.

Rocky Shores $315

Beach House

A very popular room. The Rocky Shores Room is the only room on the third floor of the Beach House. Wonderful view and very private!
This room has windows on 3 sides of the room with 2 sides having an outstanding ocean view. Our most spacious room in the Beach House, it is the perfect spot for that special get-away.
The bed is a California King.
The large full bathroom has a tub/shower combination and is finished in burgundy marble.
The colors of this room are creams, blues and golds.

Victoria $315

Guest House

The Victoria Room is located on the northwest corner on the second floor of the Guest House. Very relaxing!
This elegant room features a bay window with great views of the ocean overlooking the garden, a spectacular floor-to-ceiling Tiffany-style stained glass window, a second stained glass window and large armoire.
The bed is a California King draped with a partial canopy.
The bathroom is a full, tub/shower combination tiled bathroom with a little refrigerator.
The colors of this room are mauve and soft cream.

Julia's $315

Beach House

Julia's Room is on the second floor of the house in front northeast corner bay of the Beach House. Many of our guests request this room. Outstanding!
This room has a fabulous view looking directly across Monterey Bay as well as east down the coast towards Monterey. Other features include an octagonal beveled glass window, antique queen-sized bedroom set with unusual armoire and crystal chandelier
The bathroom is a tub/shower combination bath done in rose and beige marble.
The colors of this room are gold and royal blue.

Fairmount $285

Main House

The Fairmount room is located on the southeast corner on the second floor of the Main House. Bright and beautiful!
Treat yourself to 4 large windows with panoramic views of the ocean, coastline and mountains beyond. An additional 4 windows on the south side make this one of our brightest rooms. Two unusual stained glass windows compliment the view.
The bed is a California King draped with a partial canopy.
The bathroom is a full, shower-only tiled bath.
The colors of this room are cream and pastel golds.

Gable $285

Main House

The Gable room is the only room on the third floor of the Main House and used to be the big play attic of the house. Fun!
This room is up very high, has windows on all 4 sides of the room with ocean views from 2 sides, is in amongst 5 of our 7 gables with many interesting nooks and angles. This is a favorite and is very private.
The bed is queen-sized with a partial wall canopy above the bed.
The bathroom is a full, shower-only tiled bath with a little refrigerator in the room.
The colors of this room are soft blues, golds and creams.

Seascape $285

Beach House

The Seascape Room is on the second floor of the Beach House on the east side. One of the best view rooms in the Inn!
A large bay window opposite the bed area affords a fabulous panoramic view down the coast towards Monterey. Twelve foot high ceilings, a crystal chandelier and large carved armoire compliment the queen-sized bed draped with a partial canopy.
The bathroom is a full shower-only bath done in white and beige marble.
The colors of this room are golds and deep emerald/rose/cream tapestry.

Carriage House $285

The Carriage House Room is a single, one-room cottage that is situated at garden level and stands by itself. What a great hideout!
A bay window with a window seat at garden level allows this room to have nice view of the ocean looking out across the lawn area. It is a very private room and features a gas burning fireplace.
The bed is a California King draped with a partial canopy
The bathroom is a full, shower-only tiled bath.
The colors of this room are florals with blues and sunny yellows.

Mayfair $285

Guest House

The Mayfair Room is located on the northwest side on the second floor of the Guest House. Great spot to relax!
This spacious room features a view of the garden with the ocean in the distance, a gas-log fireplace, a large carved armoire, and is quite elegantly furnished.
The bed is a California King and is complimented by an interesting stained glass window above the bed.
The large bathroom is a full tub/shower combination tiled bath with little refrigerator.

Beach House

The Mariposa Room is on the northwest corner on the second floor of the Beach House overlooking Lover's Point and the Monterey Bay. Fun and interesting room!
This room is "L" shaped with the bedroom located at the top of the "L" and the bathroom and entry at the bottom of the "L".
Guests can lie in bed and look out at the ocean. It also has a crystal chandelier.
The bed is queen-sized and is draped with a partial canopy.
The bathroom is a full tub/shower combination bath done in white and rose marble.
The colors of this room are floral tapestry and rose.

Crespi $255

Beach House

The Crespi room is on the second floor of the Beach House overlooking both the Main House of Seven Gables and the ocean on the southeast side. Bright and airy!
Enjoy the twelve foot high ceilings, a crystal chandelier and a large picture window which overlooks the coastline as well as the front of Seven Gables. Features a second private exterior entrance.
The bed is queen-sized draped with partial canopy.
The bathroom is a full tub/shower combination done in white and beige marble.

Arbor/Garden Cottage

The Arbor Room faces east and is located on the second floor of the Arbor/Garden Cottage. Great place to watch the waves crashing!
A pleasant, warm room with 3 windows across the front with a panoramic view of the ocean, rocky coastline and the coastal mountains. It has a bright eastern and southern exposure.
The bed is queen-sized with a partial wall canopy above the bed.
The bathroom is a full tub/shower combination tiled bath.
The colors of this room are slate blue and cream with

Beach House

The China Point Room is on the elevated first floor of the Beach House on the garden or east side of the Inn. Very pleasant!
A very comfortable room with views out at the ocean and down the coastline. Also, enjoy views of the garden and pond areas. A crystal chandelier and large armoire are nice features in this room.
The bed is queen-sized draped with partial canopy.
The bathroom is a full shower-only bath done in rose and beige marble.

The Lover's Point Room is located on the west side on the second floor of the Main House. Wonderful afternoon light in this room!
This room has a nice view of the ocean through a floor-to-ceiling, 3' wide window which looks directly out at Lover's Point. High ceilings, a stained glass window and marble sink in the bathroom compliment this popular room.
The bed is queen-sized draped with a partial canopy.
The bathroom is a full, shower-only bath.
The colors of this room are in antique blues, roses and pinky beiges.

The Fairlawn Room is located on the northwest corner on the first floor and is attached to the front side of the Main House. You can see across Monterey Bay from this room!
A few steps above the front garden of the main house, this room looks right out at the ocean and has its own private entrance.

The Steinbeck Room is on the second floor on the Grand Avenue or southwest side of the Beach House. Visually, very pleasing!
Ten foot high ceilings frame a tall bay window with a crystal chandelier. Nice afternoon light fills this room. Pleasant ocean views from the north side of the bay window. Includes the convenience of a second private exterior entrance and small armoire.
The bed is queen-sized draped with partial canopy.
The bathroom is a full tub/shower combination bath done in white and rose marble.

The Garden Room faces east and is the downstairs room of our Arbor/Garden Cottage. Very pleasant and colorful!
This room looks out across the garden and out at the ocean. Features include an entry door with stained glass as well as bright morning and afternoon exposures.

The handicapped accessible full bathroom has a tub/shower combination and tiled floor.
The colors of this room are pale greens and rosy florals.

The Chautauqua Room is on the elevated first floor on the Grand Avenue or southwest side of the Beach House. A place to retreat from it all!
